How long does it take to receive my refund?
Returns generally take 7-14 working days to be processed by the ATO, however the tax office can take up to 30 calendar days during busy periods or longer if manual checks are needed.
Once processed, your Notice of Assessment should be available to access via your MyGov account and your refund will be deposited into your nominated bank account within 7 days if you provided one. If not, the ATO will issue a cheque which will delay the receipt of your refund.

No. We are not licensed to provide financial advice, but we can refer you to people who can.
What is a MyGov account and why do I need one?
A MyGov account is your personal link between yourself and Government departments such as the ATO, Centrelink, Medicare, etc. It is the primary way all Government departments communicate with people now. We strongly recommend that you have MyGov set up.
Please note: couples will each need an individual email address set up to link to their MyGov, as well as to sign their individual tax returns.
Can I have financials or tax returns sent to a third party (bank, etc)?
For the security of your sensitive information, we cannot send files directly to third parties from our systems without additional manual processing by our staff to ensure its security.
If you need tax information sent to a third party such as a bank, please send your request in writing (detailing exactly what information is required and why) to
reception@lbwadvisory.com.au for manual processing by our admin team.
Please note: as manual processing can be time consuming depending on the quantity of files involved, we may add a fee to your next invoice to cover our time.
To access this information yourself, the Notices of Assessment from previous tax returns can be accessed via your myGov account.
Tax File Numbers in particular are highly sensitive. For your security, do not electronically send files containing your Tax File Number to third parties.
